Alumni Relations

A thread that binds us where our story began

The Durban University of Technology is a result of the merger in April 2002 of two prestigious Technikons, ML Sultan, Technikon Natal and Indumiso College of Education. It was named the Durban Institute of Technology and later became the Durban University of Technology in line with the rest of the universities of technology. The Alumni Relations Office is the bridge between Durban University of Technology (DUT) and its graduates, and its aim is to cultivate and nurture a lifelong relationship between alumni and their alma mater. Alumni have an important role to play in the development of the institution and the Alumni Relations Office is tasked with initiating and implementing an Alumni Relations programme which will create a desire amongst alumni to identify with and support their alma mater i.e., the DUT. The office implements various projects and programmes which provide a platform for alumni to network with one another and which also provides a platform to keep alumni updated on current developments at DUT. Our relationship with our alumni is invaluable hence we encourage alumni to register and keep us updated with change of details.
