Join our Online Staff Giving Campaign to support student bursaries and food security. The purpose of this campaign is to grow the number of staff contributors and increase contributions to support initiatives led by AARU, and to cultivate a culture of giving and philanthropy within DUT.
Currently only 60 staff members contribute out of 1,800 employees. Your participation, no matter the size of your gift, makes a real difference to a student's future.

The DUT Bursary Fund supports academically deserving students who fall between the cracks, either through insufficient NSFAS funds or ineligibility. The average cost per student is approximately R100,000 per year, covering tuition, accommodation, books, transport, and meals.
A 4-month interim food security programme providing food parcels and vouchers to students who face inadequate access to food. Students are selected through a confidential screening process that also offers psychosocial and medical support.
Phakimpilo is a 4-month interim programme assisting students who face inadequate access to food due to financial constraints and socioeconomic challenges. A confidential screening process selects eligible students, who then receive food parcels or vouchers for the duration of the programme. Psychosocial and medical support is also offered.

Established in 2010, the Alumni Bursary Fund is an ongoing project filling the gap where NSFAS falls short. For many students, this fund represents their only path to completing a tertiary qualification — often as the first in their family to attend university.

Email your completed pledge form to the Advancement and Alumni Relations team. For tax purposes, all staff donations are reflected on your IRP5 (Code 4030) for the relevant financial year.
